Gerry Kazma

Gerry is the Chairman of Amzak Capital Management and his family is the sole owner of Amzak Capital Management. Gerry began in the cable tv business in the early 1970s. He started in Canada and moved his family to the United States in 1979 to run one of his operations. He has owned, operated and sold many cable companies throughout the United States. In the early 1990’s Gerry sold all of his operations in the United States and acquired cable companies in the Caribbean islands (Aruba, Trinidad and Martinique) and Venezuela. Gerry later sold his interest in the Caribbean and Venezuela and expanded into Central America in 1998 with the purchase of Amnet in Costa Rica. Gerry and his son Mike led the expansion of Amnet into becoming the largest cable operator in Central America and sold the company to Millicom in 2008. Gerry was a board member of Amnet Telecommunications Holding (1997-2008). Gerry is the leading force in the companies charitable giving’s to various schools and universities in the United States, Caribbean and Central America.


Michael Kazma

Mike is the President and CEO of Amzak Capital Management and has worked for Amzak for the past 20 years. Mike has been an entrepreneur and investor in the telecommunications industry for his entire life. His father Gerry put him to work in the family cable tv business at a young age during summers. Mike has worked in all areas of the cable companies his family has owned such as warehouse, cable installer, door to door salesman and senior management positions. Starting in 1992 Mike led the expansion in the Caribbean market starting in Aruba and later Trinidad and Martinique. Over the last 15 years Mike led Amzak group in buying over 60 companies in nine different countries, building thousands of miles of cable network and creating thousands of new jobs. Mike was a board member of Amnet Telecommunications Holding (1997-2008). Mike is also involved in the companies charitable giving’s to various schools and universities in the United States, Caribbean and Central America.


Didier Guigon

Didier is the Chief Financial Officer for Amzak Capital Management. He graduated from EDHEC in France (College Degree) in 1984 and then started his professional career with Ernst Young, first in Paris and then in Chicago. Didier joined the Amzak group in 1994 after having spent 10 years with Ernst and Young. Over the years, he has demonstrated an ability to coordinate and lead teams of professionals in the Caribbean and then in Central America. Didier was the CFO of Amnet Telecommunications Holding from 1998 to 2008. During the years 2005 to 2008, he was able to coordinate the implementation of the IFRS in all of the groups Companies. He has extensive hands-on experience and his areas of expertise are Financial and Strategic planning, Budget and cash flow forecasting and Mergers and acquisitions. Didier is Fluent in French and has working knowledge of Spanish.



Scot Fischer

Scot is Managing Partner of Amzak Capital Management – the primary investment vehicle for the Amzak group.  Scot joined the group in mid 2007, having had a relationship with the Kazma family for a number of years.  With over 25 years of investment banking experience in the Americas and Europe, he has participated in tens of billions of dollars worth of transactions in a variety of industry sectors and products including mergers and acquisitions, privatization, public and private equity issuance, debt capital markets, loan syndications, securitization, capital structuring and project finance.  Prior to joining Amzak, Scot’s professional experience includes working with ABN AMRO (2003-2006) as corporate finance head for the Americas region, where he led teams across Latin America and the US and was a member of the global product management committee. Scot also worked at Citigroup (1995-2001) as a regional investment banking head for Latin America, with product and origination responsibilities in Central America, the Caribbean and certain countries in South America.  Scot began his banking career with Chase Manhattan (1982-1992), initially as an account officer in Puerto Rico, then moved to New York to form part of the Latin American Investment Bank, and finally to Spain as corporate finance head, where he was primarily responsible for M&A and Private Equity. While living in Spain, Scot also spent 3 years in the computer and video games industry as deputy general manager of two privately held distribution companies.  Scot was also a board member of Amnet Telecommunications Holding (2007-2008) the largest cable television and data company in Central America. Scot is fluent in Spanish and has working knowledge of French and Portuguese and graduated from Bucknell University in 1982 with a BA in Economics.


Beatriz Beltranena

Beatriz serves as legal director and in-house counsel for Amzak. She is based in El Salvador and has been with the group since 2005. Beatriz manages the legal aspects of Amzak’s investments. Beatriz created, developed and structured the legal department of Amnet operation and subsidiaries in Central America previously owned by Amzak. She also actively participated in the sale transaction of Amnet to MICC in 2008. Beatriz previously was a Senior Associate at the Consortium-Delgado&Cevallos law firm and manager of the Corporate Law Department of the Law Firm. Beatriz has experience managing corporate international legal transactions such as securitizations, mergers and acquisitions, syndications of loans and bidding processes. Beatriz was General Counsel and Country Compliance Officer of Citibank’s Branch in El Salvador from 1998-2005. Beatriz is fluent in Spanish and English.


John Tarsha

John supervises the management of the fixed-income portfolio and liquid assets of Amzak Capital. John brings twenty five years of experience in fixed-income markets to Amzak. John worked with institutional investors at JP Morgan for five years, Banc of America Securities for nine years and Continental Bank for eleven years. John helped clients with portfolio construction, asset allocations and timing decisions, building systems to monitor credit quality and macro-economic data, investment policies, and selecting external money managers. John holds a Masters in Business Administration from George Washington University and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from University of Toledo.

Eduardo Arguello

Eduardo is an Associate of Amzak Capital Management. He is responsible for evaluating and coordinating potential private equity transactions as well as working closely with portfolio companies. Eduardo has experience performing financial, operational and market due diligence and creating operating and valuation models for potential investments. He previously worked at Sun Capital Partners where he focused on investing in distressed securities across the capital structure in the Consumer, Retail and Industrial sector. Eduardo also spent two years with JPMorgan in New York as an Investment Banking Analyst where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, debt financings and equity offerings in the Transportation sector. Eduardo graduated from the University of Pennsylvania cum laude and with honors in Economics.


Jessica Uriarte

Jessica joined the Amzak Group in 2006 as the Financial Manager of Amnet El Salvador, where she was responsible of the Treasury, Budget, Collections, and Supply Chain Departments of the company. Prior to Amnet, Jessica worked for five years with Citigroup as a Relationship Manager for some of the biggest Corporate Clients in El Salvador and Central America. She participated in several Corporate Finance transactions, some of which were Loan Syndications, Mergers and Acquisition, and Debt restructurings. Jessica spent her previous years at ExxonMobil El Salvador as planning and financial analyst for Central America and the Caribbean. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a B.S. in Business Management and a B.A. in Economics. Jessica is fluent in Spanish and English.
