The Amzak group is the corporate holding company of the Kazma family. Originally from Canada but based in the USA since 1979, the Kazma’s got their start in the cable television industry in 1968 when Gerry Kazma built his first system in Canada. Gerry, together with his son Mike who joined the company in 1988, continued to develop and operate cable systems in Canada and the United States until 1992, when the company entered its first international market by acquiring a license to develop a cable system on the island of Aruba. Subsequent investments were made in Venezuela, Trinidad & Tobago, Martinique and, in 1997, Central America. The Amzak group successfully sold each of these investments and in 2008 divested their largest project to date (Amnet), which is the largest cable television / triple play company in Central America. In the last few years Amzak has made selected investments in other geographies and industries and continues to seek investment opportunities in our core areas of media and telecommunications as well as other sectors.
